In search of Victor

Victor Jara is a Chilean singer, poet and folk hero. He was also one of the many executed during General Pinochet's military coup in 1973.

Tony Corden, a musician and psychiatric nurse, is one of Victor's most loyal devotees, and last year he made a pilgirmage from South Wales to Chile to immerse himself in his musical hero's home culture. His journey turned out not to be what he expected.

In Chile he met two buskers with the unlikely names of Kevin and Felix. He was persuaded to cross into Peru to help save Kevin's marriage through the medium of the Beatles classic, Let It Be.

Tony tells Tom about his strange experiences...
