Two weeks ago a bunch of nervous punters made their way to Newbury to watch their horse Sworn In make his racetrack debut at odds of 100-1. Some were members of the pub syndicate that owned the colt in question; others were simply local villagers who'd come along for the fun of it.
No-one expected Sworn In to come romping home by 9 lengths in the 16.55. But he did.
For trainer Nathan Rossiter, this was a win against very long odds indeed. It had been made possible by pub owners Ruth and Ron Turner who founded the syndicate that bought the horse.
Ruth and Nathan explain how it all began with one of the shortest jockey careers in history.
