Gloria's Gavel

Listen to the item

My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen! Be upstanding to hear the story of how Gloria Sweden became a toastmaster. Gloria, the epitome of authoritative charm, was spotted when she became a cabaret singer and kaoraoke host to help support her family.

Someone suggested she had just that sort of personality that meant she could bang a gavel on a table and make people pay attention. There are exams to pass if you want to become a toastmaster - and Gloria did just that to emerge as a member of the Guild of Toastmasters.

Judi Herman went to see Gloria in action.
