72-year-old John Pilkington has kept a record of every Christmas present he has been given since he was a 13-year-old boy in 1945.
Many of his presents are in apple-pie order in their original boxes and wrappings, including his slinky spring and magic lantern. His wife is also a bit of a list-maker, but John has the edge.
John's always encouraged his daughter, Heather, to keep Christmas simple and make homemade presents.
Heather has tried to keep the tradition going with her five children, but the modern Christmas has cast its expensive spell.
