Murdered daughter
Helen's daughter, Angela

Murdered Daughter

Listen to the item

Helen was concerned when her daughter Angela became involved with a new boyfriend. But Angela, and her daughter Chloe from a previous partner, seemed to get on well with Connor and they moved in together. Angela soon became pregnant.

When Angela started to visit her mother with black eyes and cuts to the head, Helen feared not only for her daughter, but also her granddaughter. It was after the birth of her baby boy, that Angela eventually told her mother of Connor's uncontrollable rage and his attacks on her. Helen persuaded her daughter to move out and live closer to her.

Connor's attacks continued, and realising how much danger she and her family were in, Angela contacted the police and social services. But that night, Connor broke into Angela's home and stabbed her to death.

In June he pleaded guilty to murder and is currently serving a 10 year sentence. Anxious for the safety of her grandchildren who now live with her, Helen is fighting for the sentence to be increased.
