 Gay Truswell called Home Truths to tell us how she lost everything when her motor home was washed out to see in the Boscastle flood...
At the time of the flood Gay was visiting her friends who run the Rock Shop, right in the heart of the village. She first noticed a puddle at the bottom of the stairsĀ - at first they thought it was just a leak but then realised that it was more serious than that. They all moved upstairs and tried to salvage as much as they could.
They stayed there until the emergency services arrived, clambered out of a skylight in the roof, slid down the roof onto another building. It wasn't until 7.30 pm that they were winched to safety by one of the helicopter crews...
