Martin became a vegetarian on his 18th birthday...but 20 years on has become a militant carnivore...

...at the Berni Inn in Bracknell, after being served duck á l'orange and couldn't eat a shred. His girlfriend at the time wasn't happy and went home in silent fury. For the next 20 years he was a vegetable saint.

But after marrying a non-vegetarian, he became envious of her eating rare steak while he toyed with the unappetising omelette the chef had thrown up. It got harder after the birth of his son and daughter who ate anything and everything.

It was a sausage that seduced him first, a cocktail sausage, at a party and he's never looked back...
