Sheila Yorke is not only coach to her football team but they are also like a family to her...

Sheila Yorke with her
Owls Trust All Stars

The redoubtable Sheila Yorke has taken her life long support for Sheffield Wednesday, known as The Owls, in a practical direction by forming her own team.

This year she also become the oldest qualified football coach in Britain at the age of 68.

Sheila got hooked on football at the age of 12 and became a passionate supporter going to all the home matches. Then she got married, had 5 children, 9 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and it wasn't until 25 years later that she made an emotional return to support her team.

After she retired she wanted to do something for her local community which had a very diverse ethnic background. She noticed that although the youngsters were very skilled with a football you didn't see many playing for local teams or professionally.

She decided to do something about this and with the help of Sheffield Wednesday's fans group she got together a list of 94 names of kids who wanted to play football and formed the The Owls Trust All Stars....
