Cynthia Penney lives in New York with her husband, Jeff, and two cats. She's a frequent visitor to England - as a writer and a cat-sitter. Lucy and Phoebe are Cynthia's cats and she loves them. She and Jeff don't have children, but she does 'have' a cat in London (Nedd - who lives with her friend Catherine). Part of the reason why Cynthia loves London is that she finds Brits equally devoted to their pets.

Catherine and Cynthia met three years ago and became great friends. Cynthia's instant bonding with Catherine's moggies led to a strengthening of this relationship. She loves travelling so crossing contintents and coming to London on a regular basis to look after Fulham-based Nedd is sheer pleasure. She also has a godchild Carolina here - whom she adores.

Cynthia has stayed with Catherine (and Nedd) 14 times in the last 3 years. Now Catherine is looking forward to a trip to New York.
