  After an impressive string of credits in London's West End, Simon Jones made his Broadway debut in 1984 in The Real Thing, and has since starred in Benefactors; The School for Scandal; Getting Married; Private Lives; The Real Inspector Hound; The Herbal Bed; Ring Round the Moon and Waiting in the Wings. He has appeared Off-Broadway in Woman in Mind; Terra Nova; Privates on Parade; The Quick-Change Room; You Never Can Tell; Passion Play and in the world premiere of Noel Coward's newly uncovered play, Long Island Sound - which he also produced in his capacity as artistic director of The Actors Company Theatre in New York. He has also directed and appeared in the US premiere of Coward's Pacific 1860, and a revival of P G Wodehouse and Jerome Kern's Oh Boy.
Among his film credits are Privates on Parade; Monty Python's The Meaning of Life; Brazil; Miracle on 34th Street (the 1994 remake); Twelve Monkeys; The Devil's Own; and the forthcoming The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy.
His extensive television work has ranged from appearances on BBC's Blackadder to HBO's Oz. Most recently he has played C S Lewis for a PBS biography due October 2003; Thomas Penn, Benjamin Franklin's arch-enemy; Sir Michael Boale, a Fascist appeaser in the BBC's Cambridge Spies; and in Wheats, the unfrosted side of a Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheat in a series of US TV commercials. Simon is possibly still best known for his pivotal performances as Arthur Dent in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Bridey in Brideshead Revisited.
His most recent radio productions include Little Women; The Visitor; Tales From the Crypt; Aspects of Oscar; Talk of New York; Too Dead to Swing; The Norman Conquests; and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Simon also recorded the narration for Douglas Adams at the BBC as well as the audio version of Adams's The Salmon of Doubt.
