FeedbackFeedback Panel

How to take part

We're looking to tap into our audience's knowledge, views and opinions. We want you to help us discuss BBC radio better, by sharing your knowledge and opinions about various subjects.

We'll then take what you tell us, analyse it and distill it, and then pass it on to our producers who might follow it up with a request for more information, or even an interview, according to what you tell us.

We're starting from the premise that although we listen to the radio and have opinions about it, Feedback is about what the listening public thinks and there are lots of you whose opinions we would like to know.

Email enables us to communicate quickly with dozens or hundreds of participants and we hope to contact those of you with relevant knowledge on given stories as and when appropriate. It might be on the day as a broadcasting story unfolds, or in the run-up to an issue we know we want to cover, or on a topic bubbling away under the surface.

But to find out who knows what, we need to build up profiles of each Feedback Panel member, so we know who is listening to which programmes and what you think about them.

Getting Involved

If you'd like to get involved, please send an email to [email protected] to register your interest. We'll email you back with more information on what's required.

After processing your information we will contact you by email every so often with requests, asking you to share your thoughts with us. You should respond only to those emails which are relevant to you and ignore the rest.

We also welcome your story ideas - but please understand that we cannot cover every story that you suggest. In some cases, your idea may be a good one, but the programme may have other priorities.

Your information and what we will do with it

We take your privacy extremely seriously and we want you and others to feel comfortable sharing important information with us.

Once you send in your details, we will store that information carefully, and use it only where necessary. Your information will be passed to Whistledown Broadcasting, who make Feedback for Radio 4. The programme producers will not share your personal information with any other third parties, and will never, under any circumstances, sell your personal information.

The information you provide will only be used by Whistledown Broadcasting to identify and contact contributors for future radio programmes (however, if you have other relationships with other areas of the BBC, you may still be contacted by them).

By providing this information, you consent to us keeping this data on Whistledown Broadcasting’s contributor database, where it will be kept securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

If you wish to be taken off the database at any time, or to update your details, please contact us on [email protected]
