Ian Maxwell was born and grew up in Zambia. He is one of the world’s leading trackers and instructs police forces and governments around the world. In his childhood Ian tracked animals like dogs and chickens and learnt the ways of the tracker. Later he spent time round ‘a thousand campfires’ with guides and trackers. He used his skills in earnest during the Rhino wars between Zambia and Zimbabwe in the eighties.
Recently Ian followed the tracks of the very rare Iberian lynx in Spain as wells as those of big casts in Africa and Brazil. Although not convinced about its existence Ian has been searching for the beast of Bodmin Moor.
