 Listen to Excess Baggage for
31 December 2005
THEATRE DIGS Actors spend much of their lives away from home. They are often on tour, on location, in repertory and, of course, during the Christmas season in panto.
Sandi Toksvig takes a look at the life of the strolling player and discusses the benefits and drawbacks living out of a suitcase. Actors Sheila Hancock, Karen Archer and Ian Kelly share their travellers' tales of unsuitable accommodation, the loneliness of days off, the hazards of taking the family with you and reminisce about treading the boards in far flung towns.
Presented by Sandi Toksvig
