The route taken by Sandi and her guests began from a layby at map ref. NY 235 311. They proceeded onto the ridge and up onto Ullock Pike, then round the head of Southerndale and onto Skiddaw. This route and other approaches to Skiddaw can be found in Wainwright's 'Northern Fells'.
