Art historian Brian Sewell examines the relationship between the Anglican Church and contemporary artists. Focusing on one work of art per programme, Brian investigates the unique and often tumultuous partnership between the Church of England and its artisans, and asks in his own inimitable fashion if this relationship has successfully stood the test of time in Britain.
Brian's journey culminates at St Martin in the Fields where he discusses the controversial new commission for the East Window with the vicar - Reverend Nicolas Holtam, and Sir Nicolas Goodison the chair of the St Martin in the Fields art panel.
