Russia is a major supplier of gas to much of Europe, but pipelines to Ukraine were abruptly closed last year during the depths of winter. Moscow claimed that the reasons for this were purely commercial, but other customers across the continent are wondering who will be next. Has Russia abandoned its military might in favour of controlling our energy supplies?
