18th Century Erotic Fiction Fanny Hill, Or Memoirs Of A Woman Of Pleasure was first published in 1749, and documents a series of trysts, encounters and liaisons. Judith Hawley, senior lecturer in English Literature at Royal Holloway, tells Mariella why this book was different from other erotica of the time, and explains the tradition this literature belongs to.
