Edward St Aubyn on his new novel Mother's Milk and literary advice for travellers on their way to India and Japan.
On this week's programme Mariella Frostrup talks to Edward St Aubyn about his new novel Mother's Milk. It continues the story of his semi-autobiographical character Patrick Melrose who first appeared in his early 1990's trilogy, Some Hope. Patrick is now a family man struggling to overcome his troubled past and give his children the happy childhood he never had. Also this week, Lesley Downer and Ian Jack suggest reading material for listeners heading off to Japan and India and the business of sponsoring literary prizes.
