Listen to Isabel Allende interview
One of the world's best known authors, the Chilean writer Isabel Allende, talks to Mariella Frostrup about her life and work. It is twenty years since her best known book, The House of the Spirits, was first published in English. On the eve of the publication of her new novel Zorro, Isabel Allende talks movingly about her birth-country Chile, the premature death of her daughter Paula, why she always starts a new novel on the 8th of January, and what it meant to her when Pablo Neruda called her a liar!
