Italy's Divisionist Painters 1891-1910 Divisionism was arguably the most significant art movement to emerge from Italy at the end of the 19th century. Inspired by French pointillism and fuelled by a desire to increase the luminosity and brilliance of their paintings they developed a way of painting with dots and strokes.
