Monet, Manet, and Van Gogh were among the many artists inspired by the arrival of the steam age. In the 19th century, the railways brought huge changes to the landscape, to industry, and to people lives. A new exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool shows how artists responded to these changes, and how they tried to reflect the desires and fears created by train travel.
The exhibition is at The Walker Gallery in Liverpool from 18 April
