SHAHIDUL ALAM
John Wilson talks to photographer and photojournalist Shahidul Alam who single handedly introduced e-mail to Bangladesh and set up a media agency, all to counteract the stereotypical images of his country as a place dominated by floods and poverty.
His current exhibition 'Migrations' at Gallery Oldham displays portraits of migrants and their lives in their new communities and runs until 27 September.

EVELYN GLENNIE Even though profoundly deaf, Evelyn Glennie is the most critically acclaimed solo percussionist in the world. She's just had a piece composed for her by Chen Yi to be premiered at the Proms next Tuesday. Evelyn takes us through the making of the new percussion piece.
