BARRY KEEFE
In the 1970s, Barry Keefe emerged as one of the most significant playwrights in the generation born towards the end of the Second World War. Stage and television plays such as Gotcha and Sus were followed by the screenplay for what has become a revered British film: The Long Good Friday. A new volume of his collected plays has recently been published and his play, The Five of Us, is on Radio 4 on Friday. Mark Lawson talks to Barry Keefe about his work.

ARTHUR RACKHAM
Arthur Rackham often conjures up images of fairies but the illustrator who lived from 1867 to 1939 had a long and varied career which included providing his own version of pictures for books like Wind in the Willows and Alice in Wonderland. Art Historian Lyn Nead reviews this first full-scale exhibition of his work in Britain for over twenty years.

REPRIEVE FOR REYNOLDS PORTRAIT
Arts Minister, Baroness Blackstone, has stepped in to prevent an important painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds leaving the country. Portrait Of Omai was first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1776 and features a Polynesian boy brought to Britain in 1774. London's Tate Gallery attempted to buy the painting when it came up for sale last year, but its offer was rejected. John Wilson talks to the Tate's director, Nicholas Serota.
