IMRE KERTESZ
Hungarian novelist, Imre Kertesz, has won the 2002 Nobel Prize for Literature.

Kertesz, a Nazi concentration camp survivor, received the academy's vote for his exploration of how "individuals can survive when subjected to barbaric" social forces.
