TIPPING THE VELVET
Literary biographer and historian Kathryn Hughes and Emily Bell editor in chief of Guardian Unlimited join Francine Stock in discussing BBC TWO's new three-part drama Tipping the Velvet a lesbian love story set in England in the 1890’s.

Tipping the Velvet begins on BBC TWO on October 9 at 9pm.

HARRY JACOBS
A new exhibition at the Photographer's Gallery in London opens on 4 October. The project combines images from the archive of studio photographer Harry Jacobs who worked in Brixton, London for nearly 50 years with new work by four contemporary artists who used the area as their 'studio'. Photographer Paul Ellis and Colin Ford, former head of the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television in Bradford discuss the archive of Harry Jacob.

Brixton Studio is at The Photographer’s Gallery in London and runs from this Friday until November 4.
