* English National Opera pre-publicity material warns that the current production of Verdi's Masked Ball - featuring brutal scenes of rape and murder - may not appeal to those who prefer the "traditional" approach. The critic Michael Oliver, and playwright Mark Ravenhill discussed the controversy. The ENO'S Masked Ball is at the Coliseum in London until April 11th


*A BBC documentary tonight aims to describe the real Adolph Eichmann from the point of view of those who met or knew him. Francis Stoner Saunders of the New Statesman reviewed the programme. I Met Adoph Eichmannis on BBC2 tonight at 9 o'clock.

*We interviewed film director Lasse Hallstroem on the release of his new film The Shipping News, which is opening next week in London and the following week nationwide. Certificate 15.
