 | | | Claire Danes in Stage Beauty
On Back Row this week we talk to Stage Beauty star Claire Danes and the director behind comic-strip hero Hellboy. We also hear about one of the largest film sets ever built.
Hellboy Hellboy is the latest film from Guillermo del Toro, the director of Mimic, The Devil's Backbone and Blade 2. Chris Tookey asks the director what attracted him to making a movie with a demon as its hero.
The Terminal Steven Spielberg's new film is all about an airport terminal where Viktor Navorski, played by Tom Hanks, gets detained indefinitely after a civil war in his homeland leaves him stateless. The Terminal's Production Designer Alex McDowell and Graphics Designer François Audouy explain how they created one of the largest film sets ever built.
Claire Danes Chris Tookey talks to Claire Danes, who began acting at 12, starred in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet at 16, took time out to go to Yale and has just returned to our screens in Terminator 3, The Hours and now Richard Eyre's theatrical love story Stage Beauty.
Hollywood Parenthood In new film Raising Helen, Kate Hudson plays a young metropolitan woman who becomes mother to three children overnight. Comedian Mel Giedroyc reflects on the somewhat unrealistic way Hollywood depicts people who find themselves unexpectedly holding the baby.
Mel Giedroyc's book From Here to Maternity is available now (ISBN: 0091886864)
