 | | | Ray Liotta
In the twelve years since starring in Goodfellas, Ray Liotta's CV has ranged widley from performing opposite Sylvester Stallone in Copland, to playing opposite Miss Piggy in Muppets From Space. He talks to Joe Cornish about his new role in the gritty urban thriller Narc, where he plays a leading role again, a grizzled amoral cop.
FILMS THAT BACKWARDS GO
Irreversible is part of a recent trend for films that go backwards. Memento started it off a few years ago and Rules of Attraction follows in March, even TV's Seinfeld had an episode in reverse. Professor Ian Christie, Christopher Nolan and the director of Irreversible, talk to Back Row about films which go backwards in time.
FOREIGN FILM GUIDE
Jean Renoir's films pop up regularly on all-time top-ten lists. His most famous are 1937's La Grande Illusion and 1939's La Regle du Jeu. Boudu Saved From Drowning, made in 1932, is out on DVD this week. Antonia Quirke discusses Renoir's career and whether or not his work deserves a place in our video collections.
