From Nigeria to Fife with a side trip to Leeds and a little skip to County Kerry.this week 'The Verb' has slipped on its Seven League Boots.
Ian McMillan will be talking to John Haynes about 'Letter to Patience', his narrative poem set partly in Zaria and partly here in England which won the Costa Award for poetry this month.
He'll be coaxing a specially commissioned song out of that master of contemporary folk, Bob Pegg.. .once of Yorkshire but now living north of the border and he'll be making sure not to catch the eye of the thoroughly Scottish memoirist, Christopher Rush, as he delivers a fierce sermon on the perils of an overactive imagination.
All this and a poem about a Glanmore Blackbird from Seamus Heaney who this week was awarded the T.S.Eliot prize for his latest book, 'District and Circle'.
So if you're feeling adventurous lace up your travelling shoes and join Ian for The Verb here on BBC Radio 3 at nine thirty this Saturday evening.
