Maria Chevska
Sunday 1 June 2008 12:00-13:00 (Radio 3)
Michael Berkeley talks to artist Maria Chevska, Head of Painting at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Arts at the University of Oxford. Since 1990, her work has incorporated made and found objects - including furniture - as well as canvases, into which she places fragments of text reflecting everyday existence.
Her musical choices include Bach's famous D minor Concerto for 2 violins, and contemporary Polish jazz from Kryzstof Komeda, as well as as three pieces from early 20th century Vienna and two from Russia.
