On Night Waves tonight Paul Allen talks to composer and musician Nitin Sawhney and choreographer Akram Khan about their forthcoming collaboration Zero Degrees which incorporates theatre, dance, music and includes sculpture by Anthony Gormley. Paul discovers why this is, for both of them, one of the most personal and emotional projects they've ever worked on.

Also on Night Waves tonight the last of this week's series of letters about some of Africa's most important universities. Acclaimed Ugandan writer Moses Isegawa examines the way in which the fortunes of Makerere University parallel those of the country as a whole and how his childhood dreams of attending were thwarted by history.

And Paul examines the work of Geoffrey Jones the filmmaker who has been called a poet so much did he relish sound over pictures, and who used commissions for adverts and commercial films to make some of Britain's most experimental films.

The collaboration between Akram Khan, Nitin Sawhney, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Anthony Gormley Zero Degrees is at Sadler's Wells from the 8th to the 15th July. It will tour Europe in October.
