Omagh
The award winning film Omagh, based around the tragic real life events of the Omagh bombing which killed 29 people in County Tyrone in 1998, is being released on DVD for the first time. Night Waves explores the legacy of the bomb and the Good Friday Agreement 10 years on. Richard English, author of a major book on the history of the IRA and Steven King, a former adviser to David Trimble, explore the relationship between Omagh and the peace process.
Omagh is released on DVD on 3rd March and is Certificate 15.
Chris Watson
Chris Watson is a sound recordist who spends his life travelling the world capturing the wildlife sounds of animals, habitats and everyday atmospheres. He has recently been recording the sounds of Cod in the seas off Norway! His forthcoming installation is of sounds he has recorded around the earth's tropical rainforests. On tonight's Night Waves he talks to Rana Mitter about the sounds of the forest.
Chris Watson's exhibition Whispering in the Leaves is on at the Sundreland Museum and Winter Gardens from 29th February to 9th March.
Vortex
And Susannah Clapp offers the first review of the Noel Coward controversial play about drug abuse, Vortex, which stars Felicity Kendal as the mother of an addict.
