Philip Dodd talks to some of the important figures in the contemporary Chinese cultural scene, including Ma Jian, author of Beijing Coma; Chelsia Lau, Hong Kong-born chief designer for Ford Motor Company; Zhou Yi, founder of China's leading industrial design consultancy and Jian Jun, editor of the magazine Urban China.
Philip asks them all about their hopes and fears for Chinese identity and culture in the face of modernisation and globalisation.

To explore these and other questions and to share their insights Philip will be joined by the Chinese born academic, Red Chan, who teaches at Warwick University and by Jan Stuart of the British Museum.
