Longford
On Night Waves tonight Ann Widdecombe joins Gabriel Gbadamosi to discuss the latest drama from the prolific pen of Peter Morgan - author of The Queen, Frost/ Nixon and The Deal.

'Longford' is a new feature-length portrait for Channel 4 of the seventh earl of Longford - Labour Cabinet Minister, Catholic convert, anti-pornography campaigner - and for three decades a lone voice speaking up for Moors Murderer Myra Hindley.

Longford will be shown on Channel 4 on Thursday 26 October starting at 21.00.

Andrea Arnold
Also on the programme, the rising British director Andrea Arnold on her new film 'Red Road'.

'Red Road' is on release from Friday 27 October, certificate 18.

The North Sea
And the first of two meditations on the North Sea; the poet Robert Crawford considers its resonances from the Scottish coast, before we hear from Norway on tomorrow.

And the poet Kwame Dawes joins Gabriel to talk about his poem cycle - 'Wisteria: Twilight Songs from the Swamp Country', which provides this year's Poetry International at the South Bank Centre in London with its gala opening on Tuesday.
