Playlist

Notes on a Scandal
In Night Waves tonight night Isabel Hilton talks to playwright Patrick Marber about his Oscar nominated screenplay for Notes on A Scandal, a new film starring Cate Blanchett as a teacher who has an affair with a fifteen year old pupil and Judi Dench as her friend and confidante Barbara.

Adoption

And Isabel explores the debate behind the government's plans not to exempt Catholic adoption agencies from considering gay couples, as part of its anti-discrimination legislation.

In the studio Isabel is joined by Glasgow University's Professor Mona Siddiqui, writer Clifford Longley, and Professor AC Grayling from Birkbeck University. She will be asking her guests if and when faith groups should be exempt from laws and regulations.

Kenneth Tynan
Kenneth Tynan's theatre criticism has long been out of print. Now, as a new edition of his theatre writing is published, Isabel will be talking to playwright Mark Ravenhill about the collection and why, fifty years on, his reviews continue to inspire critics and playwrights alike.
