Programme Details

Paul Allen talks to the film director and actor Peter Bogdanovich. His new book Who The Hell's In It? is a series of essays on the great screen stars of the past, from Cary Grant to Marlon Brando. He talks to Paul about his own origins as an actor, why films were better in the past than they are now, and why the idea of what it is to be a screen actor has changed forever.

Also, on the evening that the Queen opens Cardiff's new Wales Millennium Centre, Paul visits this spectacular building to view it's new auditorium and talk to it's architect and Chief Executive.

InIan McEwan's bestselling novel, Enduring Love, a scientist finds his entire life in upheaval after he witnesses a terrible accident. Peter Kemp joins Paul to review the new film adaptation.

And, continuing our series on Magnum photographers, the photographer Stuart Franklin recalls the story behind his famous 1989 image of a line of tanks in Tiananmen Square, defied for a moment by a single individual.
