Babel
Night Waves reviews Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu's eagerly awaited film Babel.

With a multi lingual star cast including Gael Garcia Bernal, Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett alongside non-professional actors, the film explores cultural and family divisions as a disparate group of characters are brought together through a chance event.

However, it has divided critics as much as any film in recent years. Film critics Nigel Andrews and Maria Delgado join Isabel Hilton to slug out the arguments.

Scottish Independence
As part of our look forward to the issues that will be dominating the news in 2007, we take a look north of the border, and ask what if. Scotland broke away.

This year is the 300th anniversary of the Act of Union between Britain and Scotland, but how strong is it?

Calls for independence seem sure to grow. But what would an Independent Scotland really be like? Isabel and her guests try to picture it.

TS Eliot Prize
We interview the winner of the 2007 TS Eliot prize for poetry, announced earlier this evening.
