Last Sunday's Drama on 3 was Snow, based on the novel of the same name by the celebrated Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk . In Night Waves Orhan Pamuk talks about his new book Istanbul - a mingling of personal memoir with a cultural history of his home city.

Roma, Citta Aperta/Rome Open City - Roberto Rossellini's award-winning 1945 film about the German occupation of Rome - has just been released for the first time on DVD. David Forgacs, professor of Italian at University College London, takes a look.

Two years ago an American student was killed by an Israeli bulldozer while protesting in Gaza. My Name Is Rachel Corrie - a one woman show, based on her writing and directed by Alan Rickman - opens at the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs. Night Waves has the first night review.
