Leni Riefenstahl
Gabriel Gbadamosi will be talking to Steven Bach, the author of a new biography of the film maker Leni Riefenstahl, one of the most controversial figures of the twentieth century.

Riefenstahl always denied the accusation that she was a Nazi propagandist in her films 'The Triumph of the Will' and 'Olympia' arguing that she was an apolitical artist unaware of Hitler's Final Solution, a claim that Bach refutes in his book.

Leni: The Life and Work of Leni Riefenstahl by Stephen Bach is published by Alfred A Knopf.

History of India
As a big new history of India is published, Gabriel and guests will be discussing historical reassessments of India's past as the 60th anniversary of partition approaches in August.

India After Gandhi: The History of the World's Largest Democracy by Ramachandra Guha is published by MacMillan.

Ellis Island
A hundred years ago twelve thousand immigrants entered the United States through Ellis Island in New York harbour, more than on any other day in the immigration port's history.

The writer Michael Goldfarb, whose own grandparents entered America through Ellis Island, will be talking about the mythical hold Ellis Island has on the American imagination.
