The eminent psychoanalyst Adam Phillips discusses the many faces of human intimacy, the subject of his new book. The author of many wide-ranging and provocative essays - including On Flirtation, On Kissing, and Being Bored - Phillips combines philosophy, literary theory and his practice as a psychoanalyst to shed light on often overlooked aspects of everyday human behaviour. Literary professor Leo Bersani, co-author of Intimacies, joins himto examine the many intimate relationships that can happen when strangers cross paths.
