What springs to mind when you hear the words avant-garde? Do you think of twelve tone music, or perhaps the theatre of the Absurd? Or do you simply wonder whether there is still such a thing? In Undercurrents Philip Dodd will be considering this very question and of course a host of others. His guests will be the eminent literary theorist, Terry Eagleton, the film maker, Mike Figgis, the writer Iain Sinclair and the art historian, Alyce Mahon.
