Isabel Hilton talks to the art historian Andrew Graham Dixon about the fascinating story behind the creation of Michelangelo's famous frescos for the Sistine Chapel - a labour that took four years but which resulted in one of the most complex and multi-layered works of art ever produced.

Isabel talks to the novelist Adam Mars-Jones about his new book Pilcrow, the story of a boy growing up both disabled and gay in the Britain in the 1950s.

The World Health Organisation
Isabel is joined by guests David McCoy and Kelley Lee to talk about the WHO. It is 60 years since it was founded, but can the organisation cope with the global health threats of the early 21st century such as Avian Flu and AIDS.

Martin Luther-King
This year is the 40th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King. Night Waves celebrates the life of this man who has been an inspiration to so many. The writer Tarell Alvin McCraney, whose play, The Brothers Size had its European debut at the Old Vic in November 2007 has written an appreciation.
