George Makari
Philip Dodd will be talking to the American psychotherapist George Makari about his new book on Freud and the history of psychoanalyis. In 'Revolution in Mind' Makari discusses that the current polarisation of views about Freud in which it is argued by some that he is a genius and by others that he is a relic and a fraud is based on a false dichotomy. He talks to Philip about why it would be more profitable to examine Freud's work against the huge changes in late 19th century European science, medicine, philosophy and politics.

Revolution in Mind: the Creation of Psychoanalysis by George Makari is published by Duckworth.

Anthony Minghella
We discuss the life and work of the late Anthony Minghella, who died this morning, including his latest work the BBC1 adaptation of 'The Number One Ladies' Detective Agency'. Ian Cristie, Alan Parker and Dreda Say Mitchell remember him.

No Such Thing as Society starts its tour at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on 15 March.

The Orphanage
Maria Delgado reviews the psychological thriller from first-time director Juan Antonio Bayona.
