On Night Waves tonight - what can a sketch show? Philip Dodd visits the exhibition that has smashed all records for advance ticket sales at the British Museum : the drawings of Michelangelo. Philip investigates what they tell us about drawing and what they reveal about the Renaissance artist, architect, and poet.
Also on Night Waves tonight, Philip talks to historian Francis Fukuyama about his new book which is as personal as it is intellectual. 'After the Neo-cons' explains his disenchantment with the neo-conservative project, to which he has long contributed and in which he had many friends. Fukuyama explains why the Iraq war led him to divorce the movement and lose many of those friends.
And Philip talks about how an actor directs with John Turturro, most famous for his oddball roles in the films of Spike Lee and the Coen Brothers but now the other side of the camera for his new film Romance and Cigarettes.
