Italian film director Michelangelo Antonioni's ground breaking film The Passenger, starring Jack Nicholson, receives a new release, after years of rare screenings at festivals. Film critic Jonathan Romney explores the background of the lost film and considers its contribution to our understanding of Antonioni.
The Passenger (12A) is showing at the National Film Theatre in London. A UK tour will follow and it will be released on DVD on 3 July.
