Death of the recording industry
Courtesy of Anchor Books
In his latest book, Norman Lebrecht hammers the nail into what he regards as the coffin of the classical recording industry. According to Norman, it's the end of an era, as over a century of classical music on record comes to an end with the collapse of the big record companies. For others, it is just the beginning of a new era - one where small labels record interesting repertoire with up-and-coming performers. Norman is joined by Tom, record producer Michael Haas and critic John Rockwell, to assess the plausibility of Norman's doom-laden predictions.

Norman Lebrecht: Maestros, Masterpieces and Madness. The secret life and shameful death of the classical record industry. Pub. Allen Lane. h/b £20.
