This is taken from a suite of pieces written for school orchestras by German composer Paul Hindemith. Described as a 'play for children', it tells the story of the construction of a modern city where the children are in control and the grown-ups have no say.

Holger Hiller und Thomas Fehlmann: Wir bauen eine Stadt (we build a city) (7.00)
This adaptation of the above piece was made in 1981 by the German post-punk artists Holger Hiller and Thomas Fehlmann, who were also both members of the band Palais Schaumberg. It was originally released as a cassette on the German Ata Tak label.

The London Synthesis Orchestra: Piece for Pitch 1 (5.10)
The London Synthesis Orchestra is a 9-piece chamber orchestra made up entirely of analogue synthesisers. The instigator, composer and conductor of the group is Matt Hodson (aka Bitbin), who oversees proceedings with a series of graphic scores, and conducts by imitating the hands of a clock.
