Jez Nelson presents Brazilian musical visionary Hermeto Pascoal, recorded live at London's Jazz Café. Sometimes described as the Brazilian Duke Ellington, this unique musician has a cult following among both musicians and listeners. His sextet for this performance includes his son, percussionist Fabio Pascoal, bassist ltibere Zwarg, the wordless vocals of Aline Morena and woodwind player Vinicius Dorin.
Plus, Linton Chiswick interviews Karin Krog, in advance of her only UK date this year at the Bath Festival on May 29. The Norwegian singer was one of the very first figures to begin defining a Scandinavian jazz sound in the 1960s.
