Louis Sclavis live at Bath Festival
Friday 4 June 2004 23:30-1:00 (Radio 3)
This week's live recording comes from one of France's most gifted improvisers, Louis Sclavis, who was at Bath International Music Festival last week to perform his recent major work, Napoli's Walls. The piece provides a forum for not only his own hypnotic virtuosity on bass clarinet, but also the multi-talented Mederic Collignon, who uses his voice and percussion sampler as creatively as he does his trumpet. The quartet is completed by Vincent Courtois on cello, and Hasse Poulsen guitar.
Presented by Jez Nelson.
