Petroc Trelawny welcomes the Balanescu Quartet ahead of their 'Music and Film' programme at The Sage, Gateshead, in which they will provide live accompaniment to two films by Gillian Lacey with music written by the quartet's leader, Alexander Balanescu. He also talks to pianist Murray McLachlan and cellist Moray Welsh about the weekend of recitals at St John's Smith Square, London, to commemorate the 80th birthday of composer Ronald Stevenson.
